Sto-A-Way

The Sto-A-Way was the start of it all.

I was watching a YouTube video of Will Gadd making a V-Anchor and I thought to myself, I can make my own tool to retrieve the cordage.

The result, after many prototype designs, is the Sto-A-Way.

So what’s so unique about the Sto-A-Way? As the name implies, it stows right inside the long ice screw that you use to make the V-Anchor with. That make it easy to keep track of, and easy to retrieve when needed.

The Sto-A-Way features 3d printed parts using a weather resistant ABS type Thermoplastic Resin, has a Silicone Covered Loop Handle, a 304 Stainless Steel flexible wire rope, a sharpened 304 Stainless Steel Hook, and includes a lanyard that allows you to secure it to the Ice Screw you stow it in. And the Sto-A-Way has a length of 24cm, so it’s long enough to use with the longest of Ice Screws.
